Keyword research is the section that often gets left out. If you do not have the correct keywords, you will not be able to dominate in your field. Keywords are the words people are typing into Google or other search engines. Keyword research will be your starting point. Without good keyword lists, you may be running in the wrong direction and not ranking well. No one cares about your brand, they are looking for help. This is where keyword research comes into play and can help you rank your business. How can you use Google to help you rank? Number one is using Google auto-suggest. What words do you think people are typing into Google to find your company? You should have a spreadsheet with the keywords you have come across. The “People Also Ask” section is a good section to get ideas for blog posts. Borrow the ideas and make them your own! A little more advanced tool would be to download the Google Chrome Extension “WhatsMySerp”. This will give you more keywords and how many people are searching for that word or phrase. WhatsMySerp is a free extension, but you must sign up. The final technique is going to a website called AnswerThePublic. It is a paid platform, but it is free for a couple of uses per day.
